About the Company
Ecobraz (Ecobraz Emigre) is a Brazilian civil society association based in São Paulo that collects end-of-life electrical and electronic equipment from households and businesses. Founded in 2011, it routes devices to reuse or appropriate treatment and runs digital inclusion projects that put reusable equipment back into use.
Its website says the service covers individuals, companies and public bodies. Collection is carried out by its own crews, who weigh and photograph materials, and each destination is documented with a certificate that can be validated by QR code through an online portal.
- Free home collection of items such as refrigerators, TVs and computers for individuals
- Corporate collection, including recurring pickups and exportable history for ESG documentation
- Partnerships with public bodies
- Chain-of-custody and final-destination records for each collection
- Adote um Bairro (Adopt a Neighborhood), a neighborhood collection and environmental education programme that companies can sponsor
According to Climate Chance, the organisation is funded by private corporate sponsors based on operations actually contracted, and its website says it also funds itself from the recovery of collected material.
