About the Company

The Cryptnox hardware wallet is a cold-storage card the size of a bank card. A phone app talks to it over NFC to check balances and sign transactions with a tap, while the keys remain on the card's EAL6+ Common Criteria certified secure element. No seed phrase is needed: keys can be backed up to a second card instead.

Cryptnox, based in Geneva, Switzerland, says its patented technology covers the process from key generation through card issuance. For people wanting extra redundancy, it sells Shamir Secret Sharing cards, and compatible card readers are available for desktop use. The same card platform underlies the company's FIDO2 security keys, which it positions as passwordless login hardware.
