About the Company
Cardinal Cryptography is a cryptography and blockchain company based in Kraków, Poland, founded in 2019. It is the core developer behind Aleph Zero, a decentralized network aimed at applications in finance, automotive and healthcare.
According to the Kraków Technology Park, the network builds on two technologies developed by scientists from the Jagiellonian University: a proprietary consensus protocol designed for higher speed, and a privacy layer based on Secure Multiparty Computation, which lets parties compute results from encrypted inputs without revealing individual data.
- Blockchain core development (Aleph Zero consensus and privacy technology)
- Cryptography research implemented as working code
- Custom software and web development, as described in agency directories
The consensus research was peer-reviewed and presented at a 2019 conference in Zurich, and Trail of Bits audited the Aleph Zero implementation. The company has been part of the Technology Incubator of the Krakow Technology Park since November 2020 and announced a USD 4.9 million seed round in June 2021. Its founders are listed as Adam Gągol, Matthew Niemerg, Michał Świętek and Antoni Żółciak.
